Okuma Alarm P-0727: MCS Firmware Does Not Support POS2 Unit

This Okuma alarm appears when a POS2 unit is installed, but the MIV unit firmware (ROM version) is outdated and does not support the connected hardware. In most cases, the firmware version is lower than 511, which prevents proper communication between the control system and the POS2 unit.

The issue can occur after installing new hardware, replacing electronic boards, performing maintenance, or restoring machine parameters. To resolve this alarm, the MIV firmware must be updated to version 511 or later so the control system can correctly recognize and operate the POS2 unit.

If the alarm remains active after the firmware update, additional diagnostics of the MCS control system, firmware compatibility, or related electronic components may be required.
