Okuma Alarm A-1105 – DTL Error

Alarm A-1105 indicates that a DTL (Data Transmission Link) communication error has been detected.

DTL is an internal data communication layer used for information exchange between control modules such as CNC, PLC, servo systems, and auxiliary units. When this alarm appears, the system has detected a failure or inconsistency in data transmission.

When this alarm occurs:

  • Communication between control modules may be unstable

  • Certain machine functions may stop responding

  • Startup sequence may be interrupted

  • Additional communication-related alarms may follow

Possible causes include:

  • Internal communication timeout

  • Corrupted data packet

  • Hardware communication board issue

  • Loose internal connection

  • Firmware incompatibility

  • Power fluctuation

Recommended actions:

  1. Power off the machine completely and restart.

  2. Check system event logs for additional related alarms.

  3. Inspect internal communication boards and connectors.

  4. Verify firmware versions of CNC and PLC modules.

  5. Perform hardware diagnostics if the alarm repeats.

In many cases, a simple restart may clear a temporary DTL error. However, recurring alarms may indicate a deeper communication or hardware problem.
