Okuma Alarm A-1089 – PLC Alarm Number Illegal

Alarm A-1089 indicates that the PLC transmitted an alarm number that is outside the defined or valid range.

The CNC control received an undefined or unsupported PLC alarm code and therefore rejected it.

This typically occurs due to:

  • PLC program inconsistency

  • Incorrect parameter settings

  • Corrupted PLC data

  • Software version mismatch

  • Faulty PLC logic

The control blocks the invalid alarm request to prevent unexpected machine behavior.

Recommended actions:

  1. Check PLC program configuration.

  2. Verify alarm number settings and parameter ranges.

  3. Confirm CNC and PLC software compatibility.

  4. Reload PLC program from backup if necessary.

  5. Restart the control system.

If the issue persists, inspect the PLC logic and communication interface.
