Okuma Alarm P-0886 – MCS Collision Detected

Okuma Alarm P-0886 indicates that the machine control system has detected a possible axis collision. The NC torque limiter monitors the relationship between motor output torque and motor acceleration, and when it detects an abnormal load that suggests a collision or mechanical blockage, the control immediately stops the machine to prevent serious damage. This alarm can occur if the tool or machine axis hits an obstacle, if there is excessive cutting load, or if the axis movement is blocked by a mechanical problem. In some cases it may also appear due to incorrect machining parameters, program errors, or problems with the servo drive system. After checking the machine for any physical obstruction or damage, the alarm can usually be cleared by resetting the control, but if it appears again the axis drive system or mechanical components may need further inspection.
