Okuma Alarm P-0885 – MCS Speed Deviation Over

Okuma Alarm P-0885 indicates that the actual motor speed differs too much from the commanded speed. The machine control system constantly compares the commanded speed with the real speed of the motor, and if the difference becomes too large the control stops the machine and generates this alarm to prevent damage or unstable operation. This situation may occur when the axis or spindle is overloaded, when there is a problem with the servo drive or inverter, or when the motor cannot reach the commanded speed due to mechanical resistance. It can also be caused by problems with the encoder feedback, incorrect parameters, or electrical issues in the drive system. After checking that the axis or spindle can move freely and that there is no mechanical blockage, the alarm can usually be cleared by resetting the control, but if it continues to appear the drive system or related electronics may need inspection.
