Okuma Alarm P-0884 – MCS Over Speed

Okuma Alarm P-0884 indicates that the actual motor speed has exceeded the permitted limit. The machine control continuously monitors the motor speed and compares it with the allowed operating range. If the motor rotates faster than the safe limit, the control system immediately stops the machine and generates this alarm to prevent damage to the drive system or mechanical components. This condition may occur due to problems with the servo drive, inverter malfunction, incorrect control parameters, or unstable feedback from the encoder. In some cases it can also be caused by electrical issues or a failure in the speed control loop. After checking the machine and resetting the control the alarm may clear, but if it appears again the drive system or related electronics should be inspected.
