Okuma Alarm A-1108 – Non-Responsive Software Detected

Alarm A-1108 indicates that a critical internal software module within the CNC control has stopped responding.

The control system has detected that one of its processes is frozen or not returning expected signals within the allowed time. To prevent unstable operation, the system triggers this alarm.

When this alarm occurs:

  • Certain control functions may stop responding

  • Screen updates may freeze

  • Machine operation may halt

  • Auxiliary functions (CAS, loader, PLC communication, etc.) may be interrupted

Possible causes include:

  • Internal software crash

  • Memory corruption

  • Communication failure between NC and PLC

  • Incompatible software versions

  • Overloaded system resources

Recommended actions:

  1. Power off the machine completely and restart the control.

  2. Check for recent software updates or parameter changes.

  3. Verify system memory and storage condition.

  4. Restore backup data if necessary.

  5. Contact Okuma service if the error repeats.

If the alarm occurs repeatedly, deeper diagnostics of the control software or system hardware may be required.
