Okuma Alarm A-1106 – FL-net Initialization Error

Alarm A-1106 indicates that an error occurred during initialization of the FL-net communication system.

FL-net (Factory Local Network) is used for high-speed communication between CNC, PLC, and other control modules. During power-up, the system attempts to initialize the FL-net interface. If this startup sequence fails or does not complete correctly, Alarm A-1106 is triggered.

When this alarm appears:

• Communication between CNC and PLC may not be established

• Peripheral devices connected via FL-net may not respond

• Machine startup may be incomplete

• Network-dependent functions may remain inactive

Possible causes include:

• Incorrect FL-net configuration parameters

• Node address conflict

• Communication timeout during startup

• Firmware mismatch

• Temporary power instability

• Loose or damaged network cable

Recommended actions:

1. Power off the machine completely and restart.

2. Verify FL-net network settings and node numbers.

3. Check communication cables and connectors.

4. Inspect FL-net board status indicators (LED signals).

5. Confirm firmware compatibility.

6. If the error repeats, perform detailed diagnostics of the FL-net module.

Unlike A-1107 (Major FL-net Error), this alarm indicates a startup initialization problem and may sometimes be resolved by a simple restart.
